Intent of this website
In the stock market, there are a great many opinions of how to invest, whether conservative or aggressive. Also, when it comes to market timing, there are many who will write it off and say "market timing doesn't work" without actually investigating the possibilities. My goal is to post my analysis and a few collection of stock picks that I feel that will do well.
Yes, I feel that market timing does work, but it takes effort and time that the public may not have to spend. For large accounts, usually a balanced approach with index equity funds and bond funds will suffice. Why try to do better than the market by 1% or 2% when and index fund can give enough performance? To do better than the market, the holder of just a few dollars may want to take the risk.
This website will give me the opportunity to share my results and broadcast to investors analysis that they themselves may find interesting. I have read many books and tried many avenues of investing, so I feel I am prepared to join the many in the fight for profits. However, keep in mind that the reader may have his own ideas so this site is to provide an alternate point of view for those that may want a second opinion.
Glossary:
Bullish means that the timing signal expects the designated market to rise in price
Bearish means that the timing signal expects the designated market to fall in price
Long means that we buy the stock. Sometimes that stock appreciates when prices fall in the designated market
Short means that we sell the stock short by borrowing shares and selling them, expecting the market to fall
Note to managers of large accounts, mutual funds and hedge funds: The matter of interest to you may be the Tsunami indicator. This forewarning of impending doom in the stock market may be worth your while of investigation. To raise cash and perhaps buy puts would not interfere with your manner of investing during bullish periods. To “weed the garden”, so to speak, would be of interest to keep in step with the market and avoid large drops. You may email me to discuss this.
